While there are numerous diets on the market that can help you lose weight quickly, they are usually not sustainable and can even be dangerous. Popular diets that are high in saturated fat can lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in the long run. With the support of a lifestyle medicine physician, you can create an individualized nutrition plan that meets your weight loss goals without compromising your health.
Many approaches to weight loss limit the intake of carbs–this isn’t one of them! For one thing, not all carbs are equal.
Work with a physician to become nutrition literate–then you will know which foods are the healthy choices and the ones to put into your cart the next time you’re at the grocery store.
When you care for your body by treating it the way it was designed to be treated, it will thrive! Lifestyle medicine is based on the science of what is good for your body as a whole, not just the way you look. At the Ozark Center for Lifestyle Medicine, a lifestyle medicine physician will work closely with you to help you assess, and make any necessary adjustments to, your overall way of living to help assure that you achieve not only your weight loss goals, but a healthier you as well!
You can do this.
